Cookie Policy

Last updated: April 13, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Yihook ("we", "us", or "our") uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit our websites at https://yihook.ai and https://app.yihook.ai (the "Service"). This policy supplements our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently, remember your preferences, and provide information to website owners.

Similar technologies include Local Storage and Session Storage, which serve comparable purposes but store data differently in your browser.

2. How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use cookies and browser storage technologies for the following purposes:

2.1 Essential (Strictly Necessary)

These are required for the Service to function. Without them, core features like authentication would not work. You cannot opt out of essential cookies.

Technology Name Purpose Duration
Local Storage maxtrawberry.auth.session Stores authentication tokens (JWT access token and refresh token) to keep you signed in Until logout or token expiry
Session Storage credits.checkout.context Temporarily stores checkout context during the credit purchase flow Browser session only

2.2 Functional

These remember your choices and preferences to provide a more personalized experience. Disabling these may cause certain features to not work as expected.

Technology Name Purpose Duration
Local Storage maxtrawberry.locale Remembers your language preference (e.g., zh-CN, en-US) Persistent
Local Storage maxtrawberry-theme Remembers your theme preference (light or dark mode) Persistent
Local Storage assets:edit-draft:v1 Saves your in-progress generation form data so you don't lose work if you navigate away Until cleared or used
Local Storage hookreel-edit-draft Saves your in-progress HookReel form data so you don't lose work if you navigate away Until cleared or used
Local Storage cookie-consent Records your cookie consent preference Persistent

2.3 Analytics

We currently do not use analytics cookies or tracking scripts. If we introduce analytics in the future, we will update this policy and request your consent where required.

3. Third-Party Cookies and Services

The following third-party services may set cookies or collect data when you use our Service:

3.1 Stripe (Payment Processing)

When you purchase credits, you are redirected to Stripe's hosted checkout page. Stripe may set cookies on its domain to process your payment securely, detect fraud, and comply with regulatory requirements. Stripe's use of cookies is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

3.2 Google (OAuth Authentication)

If you choose to sign in with Google, Google may set cookies to facilitate the authentication process. Google's use of cookies is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not control the cookies set by these third-party services. Please refer to their respective policies for more information.

4. Managing Cookies and Local Storage

4.1 Browser Settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can typically:

  • View what cookies are stored on your device
  • Delete individual cookies or all cookies
  • Block cookies from specific websites or all websites
  • Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is being set

Please note that blocking or deleting essential cookies/storage will prevent you from using the Service properly (e.g., you will not be able to stay signed in).

4.2 How to Manage in Common Browsers

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions → Cookies and site data

4.3 Local Storage and Session Storage

Local Storage and Session Storage can be managed through your browser's Developer Tools (usually accessible via F12 or right-click → Inspect → Application tab). You can view, edit, or delete individual storage items.

4.4 Cookie Consent

When you first visit our Service, we display a Cookie Consent banner that allows you to:

  • Accept All: Enable all cookies and storage (essential + functional)
  • Necessary Only: Allow only essential cookies and storage required for the Service to function

You can change your preference at any time by clearing the cookie-consent item from your browser's Local Storage.

5. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. As we currently do not use analytics or tracking cookies, the DNT setting does not affect your experience on our Service.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the technologies we use or for other operational, legal, or regulatory reasons. We will post the updated policy on this page and update the "Last Updated" date. For significant changes, we will notify registered users via email.

7. Contact Us

If you have questions about our use of cookies or this Cookie Policy, please contact us at support@yihook.ai.
